Christmas is just around the corner.  We would be happy to help you find that perfect "gift of comfort" for your loved ones.  Today, December 1xt you can find our alpaca ware in four different places.  We have socks and insoles at Deb Gilmer's Studio Tour, Corinne is at the Ottawa Farmer's Market at Lansdowne, Emily is in Manotick at Watson's Mill and Kathy and Jordy can help you out in Merrickville.  Our pop up shop is located at Abel Mountain across from the gas station.  We look forward to reconnecting with old customers and meeting new potential customers.

We have thoroughly enjoyed our three months at our upstairs pop up shop at Mrs. McGarrigle's. Thank-you so much Janet, Barb and all staff members for being so welcoming. For the next three months, you can find us across the street at Abel Mountain (our new temporary pop-up shop location). Both Canadian and Peruvian inventory is arriving weekly. Pop-in to find that special cozy gift item or get a head start on your Christmas shopping. WE look forward to seeing you.
To all you fibre artists out there, we have a great selection of materials for your various projects: alpaca roving, merino roving, silk hankies, merino pre-felts, alpaca yarn, silk laps, angelina, art batts, sari silk ribbon and so much more.
We are working on the finishing touches of our display today and will be open for business Wednesday, October 3rd at 10:00 am.

For the first time in many years, we are not part of the Alpaca Farm Days. WE will not be having a fall event at our farm. If you are interested in any fall shopping for cozy alpaca products, you can find our alpaca ware upstairs at Mrs. McGarrigle's in Merrickville. Please do keep in mind that September 30th is our last day for our three month pop-up shop at Mrs. McGarrigle's. Check it out as we have new inventory arriving on a daily basis. We sure have enjoyed our time at Mrs. McGarrigle's. The staff is second to none and made us feel very welcome. Farm visits are welcome by appointment.

Where in the World are the gals from Alpaca Tracks?

If our display at our pop-up shop at Mrs. McGarrigle's in Merrickville is looking a little sparse this week-end, it is because we are at The Almonte Fibre Festival September 8th and 9th. In addition to having a display booth, we are also giving demos with our FeltLoom. We hope to see you there.
As we move into the fall and the months leading up to Christmas, our merchandise moves very quickly. We will be continually adding new items: some one of a kind items made by Corinne, myself and our knitters and weavers, Canadian Milled Alpaca Products and Fair Trade Items from Peru. Check back regularly to find that perfect gift item(s) for your loved ones.
Other Upcoming Events:
• September 15th and 16th: We are at the Mountain Apple Orchard with two alpacas and a sampling of our alpaca ware.
• September 22nd: Leeds Grenville Fibre Extravaganza at the Municipal Centre in Kemptville
• September 29th: Wesborro Farmer’s Market
• Merrickville Wolford Night Market (TBD) as I am a fair weather kind of person. We don’t like to expose our products to rain & I hate the heat combined with the humidity.
September 30th: We are sad to say this is our last day here at Mrs. McGarrigle’s with our pop up shop. It was such a pleasure to be there July – September. The staff at Mrs. McGarrigle's is second to none.
We will be across the street at Abel Mountain for the months of October, November and December. We are also out and about at many events leading up to Christmas. You just never know where the gals from Alpaca Tracks T(h)read Lightly will pop up.
Do you have a retail outlet? Our wholesale product list is growing. If you are interested in purchasing wholesale from us, contact Kathy at kcfreedom39@hotmail.com
Visit our website to find us: www.alpaca-tracks.com. We do sell on-line but don't have everything listed.
Farm Visits: Want to meet the animals that produce this luxury fibre? Call us to arrange a farm visit. 613-258-0177

To all our Lansdowne and Westboro Farmer's Market customers,
Please note that we will not be attending these markets during the summer months.  We will see you in the fall.  In the meantime, you can find us in our new pop up shop at Mrs. McGarrigle's in Merrickville. In addition to all our regular home grown/Canadian crafted value added alpaca products, you can also find a beautiful selection of Fair Trade items from Peru.   Our shop is open 7 days a week.  I am there some of the time but if you would like to insure that either Corinne or myself is there, when you visit, please do contact us and we can arrange a time.  613-258-0177   613-323-3933 (Kathy's cell)  kcfreedom39@hotmail.com

Kruze on down the 416

Once again, the week-end is here! This week-end we are part of the 416 ArtKruze and the Landsdowne Textile Festival. Kathy will be in Landsdowne on Saturday offering a nice variety of artisanal textile supplies including alpaca yarn and rovings. We also offer dyed merino, silk, sari ribbon, art batts, pre-felts and so much more. These items will also be available at our farm store on Sunday.
“You can't use up creativity. The more you use, the more you have.”
Let us help you find what you need for your next project.
Corinne will be welcoming folks to our farm on Saturday for the 416 ArtKruze. Come on by and meet the alpacas and visit our farm store. Bring a lawn chair and sit back and relax while you watch the alpacas, sheep, angora goats and free range chickens going about their daily routine.
Sunday, June 24th both Kathy & Corinne will be at the farm to welcome you. We are adding a new twist to the 416 ArtKruze hosting a Textile Repair Cafe. This will be an informal drop-in event where you can come and bring an item that needs some kind of minor repair such as mending a hole in a sock, hemming pants, sewing on buttons etc.
We also invite anyone who would like to come spend a couple of hours in a picturesque relaxing setting to share their skills. Bring along a lawn chair and whatever items you might think would be useful to help someone give new life to their garment that needs attention.
Also, if you would like to come and work on a project while hanging out with like-minded people, you are welcome to do that too.
We will have ArtKruze Brochures available so you can Kruze on down the 416 and visit some of the other stops.

Adding a new twist to the 416 ArtKruze

Ok . . .I just can't contain the excitement! Alpaca Tracks T(h)read Lightly is adding a new twist to the 416 ArtKruze. Alpaca Tracks T(h)read Lightly is hosting a Textile Repair Café
Sunday, June 24th: 11:00 – 4:00 pm (this event is advertised for Saturday in the 416 ArtKruze Brochure but we have had to move it to Sunday).
With the inception of Alpaca Tracks T(h)read Lightly, our vision has remained consistent with the goal of producing a long lasting product in an environmentally and socially responsible manner. Our goal is to move people away from “fast fashion”, a mass produced highly disposable product.
Unfortunately, we have become a throw away society. That is changing! Second hand stores and repurposed clothing are becoming more and more popular as people are more conscientious about staying away from filling up landfills with disposable clothing. With this in mind, we are extending an invitation to you to come spend some time on our farm and to learn how to upcycle, recycle or simply repair your favourite pair of hand knit socks or sweater. After a simple repair, that special item could get a new lease on life.
In our hurried society, lots of people have forgotten that they can repair things themselves or they no longer know how. Traditionally, this skill was passed from generation to generation. By hosting a repair café, we are aiming to keep the wealth of traditional artisan practises and knowledge alive. After visiting our farm, you will have learned a new skill and the environment is all the better for it. You might even choose to pass your newly learned skill on to others. As environmentalists, Corinne and I want to kindle people’s enthusiasm to work towards developing a more sustainable society. Want to join us in T(h)reading lightly on Mother Earth? You can start by fixing the hole in your sock rather then throwing it out.
We invite you to come and learn how to mend your socks or fix a hem on your pants or your skirt, or maybe even sew on a button or two. There will be fixers here who will help you, teach you, and show you how to do it."
Calling all fixers! If you would like to volunteer a couple of hours to share your valuable skills, please contact Kathy at kcfreedom39@hotmail.com or 613-258-0177.
